Why fast cooling matters
Bacteria multiply quickly in warm milk. The faster you cool it after milking, the longer it keeps and the better the price you get from processors. Pour milk into the tank as soon as it is filtered and keep the lid closed.
Power and placement
- Install on a level floor with space around the condenser for air flow.
- Use a correctly rated supply; add a voltage stabiliser where power fluctuates and plan backup power for outages.
- Keep the room shaded and clean.
Cleaning routine
Empty, rinse with clean water, wash with dairy detergent, sanitise and let it drain after every collection. Check the outlet valve and seals weekly.
