Solar-Powered Water Vending in Kenya: What Works and What It Needs

Quick answer: Solar works well for pumping water into storage (solar pumps from KSh 18,230) and for low-power dispensers and UV. Running an RO plant on solar is possible but needs a properly sized solar system, often with batteries or grid backup, because RO pumps draw more power. Many sites pump by solar in the day and treat and dispense from storage.
