Gastronorm Pan Sizes Explained, With Prices (and Stainless Castor Wheels)
- GN 1/1 = 530 × 325 mm (the full size)
- GN 1/2 = 325 × 265 mm; GN 1/3 = 325 × 176 mm; GN 1/4 = 265 × 162 mm
- Depths: 65, 100 and 150 mm
- Castor wheels: fixed, swivel and braked, 4–6 inch

The number in each product name is the depth in mm (65, 100 or 150) followed by the GN size. Mix sizes in one opening: for example one 1/2 and two 1/4 pans.

How Many Servings Are in a Pan?
It depends on the food and portion size. Deeper pans hold more: a 150 mm pan holds more than twice a 65 mm pan of the same size. Plan by the volume each dish needs and keep a spare pan of each popular dish so you can swap full for empty quickly during service.

Fixed, Swivel or Braked Castor Wheels?
- Swivel wheels turn in any direction, for easy steering.
- Fixed wheels roll straight, for stability.
- Braked wheels lock in place. A common trolley setup is two swivel wheels with brakes at one end and two fixed wheels at the other.
