Planning the site
- Power: confirm the supply the compressor needs, and plan a backup for outages.
- Room: a clean, ventilated, tiled space with water for cleaning and drainage.
- Testing: basic milk quality tests at reception (alcohol, density) protect the whole tank.
- Records: litres per farmer and tank temperatures.
Funding
Many cooperatives fund chillers from member savings, SACCO loans or support programmes. Ask your county cooperative or livestock office and the Kenya Dairy Board (KDB) about current programmes. We provide formal quotations for grant and loan applications.
