Coffee Capsule Filling and Sealing Machines: How They Work and Prices
Pictured: automatic coffee capsule filling and sealing machines.
Quick answer: A coffee capsule machine feeds empty capsules, doses ground coffee, tamps it, seals each capsule with a foil lid and pushes the finished capsules out, all automatically. Our machines are KSh 1,900,000 (automatic high-speed) and KSh 3,300,000 (rotary).
Key facts
  • Feed → dose → tamp → seal → eject
  • Capsule type must match the machine (and the brewers it is made for)
  • Fresh, consistently ground coffee is essential
  • Food products need KEBS approval

How Does a Capsule Filling Machine Work?

  1. Empty capsules are fed into the machine's moulds.
  2. A doser fills each capsule with an accurate weight of ground coffee.
  3. The coffee is tamped (pressed) to the right density.
  4. A foil lid is heat-sealed on top, often with nitrogen flushing to keep the coffee fresh.
  5. Finished capsules are ejected for packing.

Coffee Pods vs Capsules

Capsules are rigid cups (plastic, aluminium or compostable material) sealed with foil; pods are soft paper sachets of coffee. Each machine fills a specific capsule size and shape, so decide which brewers your customers use before choosing the capsule.
