Cost per Bottle Calculator for Liquid Products
Pictured: pneumatic liquid filler (left) and semi-automatic labelling machine (right).
Quick answer: Cost per bottle = product cost per litre × bottle size + bottle, cap, seal and label + overheads ÷ bottles sold. Packaging often costs more than the liquid in small bottles, so compare bottle sizes: a bigger bottle spreads packaging cost over more product.
Key facts
  • Cost = liquid + packaging + overheads per bottle
  • Packaging dominates small bottles
  • Induction seals stop leaks in transport
  • Payback = equipment ÷ monthly profit

Frequently asked questions

How do I calculate the cost per bottle of liquid soap?

Ingredient cost per litre × bottle size, plus packaging, plus overheads per bottle.

What machine do I need to bottle liquid soap or juice?

A liquid filler, a cap sealer (induction for leak-proofing), a labeller and a coder.

Why do my bottles leak in transport?

Caps without an induction seal or not tightened evenly; induction sealing fixes most leaks.
