Permits

Milk retail usually needs registration with the Kenya Dairy Board, a county business permit and a public health inspection of the premises. Staff should have food handler’s certificates. See the KDB licence guide.

Installation Day

  1. Place the machine with the agreed clearances and level it.
  2. Let it stand before switching on if it was transported on its side (follow the technician’s guidance).
  3. Connect to the dedicated socket; check cooling reaches temperature.
  4. Calibrate the dispenser and test litres dispensed.
  5. Clean and sanitise before the first milk.
  6. Train staff on cleaning, payments and daily records.

Location Matters

Installation requirements are the minimum; sales depend on foot traffic. See where to place a milk ATM.
